Ruth Kimble is the president and founder of the Austin Child Care Providers Network, which provides support and technical assistance to family child care providers in Chicago's Austin neighborhood.  Network providers work together to help create a nurturing, loving atmosphere for children, while fostering education for the children and families in their care.  The Network also provides transportation to and from public schools and child care facilities, mentoring to teen mothers, after school care, tutoring, extended hours and weekend care.

Through Ms. Kimble's affiliation with Good City and The Hunger Coalition, she delivers donated office supplies and food, not only to her Network programs, but to community agencies serving low-income children and families.  Ms. Kimble has served on the United Way's Success b Six Project, aimed at increasing the immunization rate for low-income children.  She also recently developed and organized a community health fair in Austin.
